The SDG awareness booth organized by G17 University Ambassadors Consortium in Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka was successfully conducted on 25th September 2022 from 10am onwards at the auditorium of Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages in the university premises. The booth was carried out in partnership with the Zero Plastic Community and AIESEC Society of the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka who initiated the efforts to create a sustainable environment.
The main objective of the day was to create awareness among the community about the Sustainable Development Goals. The session was carried out with interactive activities with over 350 participants. The guest speakers of the day were Dr. Sampath Wahala, a Senior Lecturer in EcoBusiness Management, Department of Tourism Management in the Faculty of Management Studies, and Dr. Hasintha Wijesekara, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Natural Resources in the Faculty of Applied Sciences.
The awareness session was carried out under the guidance of University Ambassadors and the guest speakers. At the end of the session, the photo booth was presented to the audience. Participants were allocated time for capturing the moment of the day, with ambassadors taking pictures. The event was a success with the enthusiastic participation of University Ambassadors of the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka.
