The SDG Booth conducted by the G17 University Ambassadors of the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka was successfully held with over 100 participants on the 30th of September, 12.00 pm onwards, at the University Arts Faculty premises. The SDG Booth aimed to raise awareness regarding the SDGs and encourage undergraduates to give their individual contributions to achieving the Global Goals, paving the way for a sustainable tomorrow.
The event consisted of awareness sessions and fun and engaging activities related to the SDGs. Awareness sessions were conducted by Ms. Menasha Samaradiwakara, National Lead for the Global SDG Week, the G17 University Ambassadors Consortium Coordinator for the University of Colombo, and the University Ambassadors who have successfully completed their projects over the past few months. Exciting games also happened during the booth, where participants could enhance their knowledge of SDGs, have fun and win gifts simultaneously. Moreover, the photo booth created by the ambassadors was open for anyone to take pictures and cherish the moment.
With the consistent hard work, passion, and enthusiasm of the Ambassadors, as well as the support received from the Gavel Club and Leo Club of the University of Colombo, the event was able to spread awareness regarding what the G17 Ambassadors do and also encourage the undergraduates to be a part of this movement.
