Joining the Global Week to #Act4SDGs, the G17 University Ambassadors of the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka decided to hold a SDG Photo Booth in order to raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among university students. The event was held on 28th October 2022 at the senate premises, with more than 50 enthusiastic participants.
Professor Athula Senarathne, the former Vice Chancellor, was the chief guest, and his immeasurable knowledge of geology and environmental sciences added much color to this event.
In his speech, he drew attention to the importance of the SDGs in the contemporary world and how we can achieve them for the betterment of society. He emphasized climate change, global warming and environmental related issues in this technological era.
After this fruitful discussion, we created some attractive posts which spotlighted the Global Goals and stood in front of the camera lens while smiling.
With the help of this SDG Photo Booth session, we were able to grab the attention of university students and give them a crystal clear idea on how they could take action on the SDGs.
As young leaders, we are eager to be part of these kinds of activities and accomplish our duties to create a sustainable planet.
